| Sydney-Hobart Race State deputy coroner John Abernethy declared Briton Glyn Charles and Australian John Dean dead even though their bodies were never found. 115 boats had entered the race, 70 withdrew because of weather conditions, 7 boats were abandonded or sank and 6 sailors died. Stability tests on vessels and life rafts will be carried out at the Australian Maritime College. |
