The Half Hitch
The Half Hitch is our first knot for tying a line to an object. To my
way of thinking the Half Hitch and the Overhand knot are the same, but
I wouldn't want to cause an argument from the purests and zelots.

Tying the Knot |

1. Make a loop, right hand over left. |
|
2. Insert the "Bitter End" up through the loop. |
|
3. That's and Overhand Knot. |
|
4. Fold the "Bitter End" down to the "Standing Part" to make
a Half Hitch. |
