Mariners' Guide Campaign '98

Mad Max If you've been following along you already know that last year was a pretty good year. Well ok a GREAT year. We put some work in the boat, concentrated on teamwork, and got lucky. A lot of luck. So many races could have easily been different.

The best part for me was watching the crew come together. Given a weapon like Mad Max these Thursday night beer can racers went all out. There was no excuse, we had to win! The teamwork, the concentration, the sweat and tears, everyone rose to the occasion to make it a special year.

It will be hard to top 1997, but we're gonna try. First, we're switching positions to raise individual skill levels and improve teamwork. This may cost us in the beginning of the year, but I believe it will make us a better team in the end. Second we're changing our "down bay" schedule to concentrate on short course races where we do a little better. So you can look for us in the following races:

Havre de Grace Spring Race
Glenmar Spring Tuneup
Epilepsy Cup
Northern Bay Race Week
CBRYA Race Week
Havre de Grace Fall Race
Governors' Cup: You have to be crazy to do this race in a J/27
And Thursday night at Havre de Grace
