Mad Max History

Mad Max is a J/27, hull number 48, built in 1984 and first commissioned in 1985. She was purchased from the Sail and Ski Center in Austin, Texas by Max Hoene. Rumor has it that she was raced lightly before being brought to Massachussetts.

Meanwhile, after 16 years of racing and sailing as crew, I had decided it was time to campaign my own boat. With help from Custom Offshore, I found Mad Max in Marblehead and brought her to Havre de Grace in June, 1994.
